SIS students recently organised a talent show to celebrate all manner of performing talents. Lorenzo, the lead organiser reflects on the show and its allied good cause.
Last week SIS continued its annual tradition of hosting yet another incredible talent show to mark the ending of the year. With over 20 performers in the show, we saw musical, choreographed, filmmaking, instrumental, and acrobatic talents. This year's talent show sought to open the stage for all forms of artistry and creativity found here at SIS!
So many students from different grades and schools were all invited to the aula in Norra Latin to show their creative gifts, and no performance fell short of flawless. It was an honour to get to see everyone's performances, and so moving to see students come together to support one another. This incredible event celebrated the many forms of art that make not only our SIS community, but our community of International Schools stand out from others.
Student Council also hosted yet another bake sale at the show, meant to help the Nature Youth Group of Sweden (NYS) in their actions to bring change to protect Sweden’s ecosystems and wildlife. This was a continuation of Student Council's actions in “Earth Week” back in April, when members of the student body came together to plan activities that helped raise more than 4600kr for the NYS cause, while also showing love from SIS to the NYS!!!
Congratulations to the three winners of the event, and thank you to each and every one of the performers. You all are so incredibly gifted, and your talent does not go unnoticed by us at SIS. Thank you to all the parents, friends, and teachers who came to support and enjoy the talent show’s performances! Lastly, thank you so much to the Nepal Project, SIS Arts department, Student Council members, the NYS, Ms. Sethi, Ms. Flint, & lights and tech crew for the event.
This project truly brought so many of us together around the idea of supporting the arts and artists within our community. The love and passion that was so present in the room that day, only enforces our belief to continue the appreciation and celebration of the artists who continue to make a difference in our community and lives at SIS.
