For many months since SIS first stepped in to Norra Latin, part of our grounds was a depot for building materials and ancillary matter for the refurbishment of the Folkets Hus/House of People across the road. It is owned by our landlords – hence the provision of the construction space – and this month saw the grand opening.
The renovation project has taken about two years, and Lars Kockum has been the lead architect as he was for Norra Latin. Like NL, the renovation is quite something, as is the art, so it's well worth a visit.
They have also opened a café, Café Markelius (named after the original architect). In the spirit of our Whole School Goal to make every interaction count, we have negotiated that members of the SIS community will get 15% off all food and drink (non-alcoholic)! This offer applies to both staff and parents. Just show your family tag and say that you're from the school (if you want to test your Swedish you can say it's the "goda grannar" offer) and you will get the discount.
